A couple of months ago we were delighted to report that any contributions made to our ABCD Projects in Fiji would be fully tax deductible for payments made in Australia, thanks to Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS). This means that the five new projects in Taveuni and the Yasawa Islands, Fiji, which start in January 2012 will be – that’s right – fully tax deductible for all donations. And remember, it only costs $250 to keep a child in school in each of these locations for a full school year!
We have now made application to RAWCS for the same tax deductible status to be given for potential new projects in East Timor and in Indonesia. Watch this space for more updates on progress. The first Indonesian Project will be in Ubud, Bali, thanks to the fantastic support from the Rotary Club of Manningham in Melbourne, Australia. Take a look at their website at http://www.manninghamrotaryclub.org/
More to follow on East Timor – we’re still negotiating!
