Some more great news… The Rotary Club of Oakleigh in Melbourne have adopted the St Andrews Primary School near Savusavu and have found sponsorship for 20 children – yippee…! All the schools around Savusavu on Vanua Levu have families facing similar problems; subsistence farming and limited employment and the bills still have to be paid – including of course the cost of schooling. On average this is about $400 Fiji Dollars a year – maybe $250 Australian or US dollars. Not much maybe for us – but if your income is only $2,000 per year – and you have 5 children…? So our heartfelt thanks to President Peter Norman and your fellow members at RC Oakleigh. These children, their families and the whole community can breath a little easier thanks to your generosity.
