Rotary District Conference and ABCD Australia

Last weekend was the Rotary District 9810 Conference in Wangaratta, Victoria. ABCD had a display stand in the Expo Hall and we were lucky enough to have a ten minute speaking slot on the Saturday afternoon at ‘peak viewing’ time! Thanks to Rotary District Governor Brian Martin for being so generous with the space and the time slot. Did it make a difference? You betcha!!! Four more Rotary Clubs have adopted the four remaining ABCD Project schools on our ‘approved project’ list. They are all in the more remote parts of Fiji – two on the Island of Taveuni and two just outside the small town of Savusavu on Vanua Levu. This will bring the total number of ABCD projects running in 2013 up to nine – thanks a million to everyone involved.

And more good news – we have been given a wonderfully generous donation of $5,000 from another Rotary Club in conjunction with a philanthropic trust! How good is that? This will make a massive difference to our fundraising efforts for one of the two infrastructure projects we have planned for later in 2013. watch this space… More news and pictures to follow!
